UPDATE: The Itchen, Candover and Testwood Water Abstraction Public Inquiry has now concluded. The Section 20 Agreement will be finished and signed tomorrow and will be sent to the Inspector along with all the other documents, including the environmental monitoring, mitigation and compensation measures which will be on the public website. New rules for farmers, April 2018
There are new ‘farming rules for water’ from 2 April 2018 for all farmers in England. DEFRA have published a simple overview factsheet, together with full details of the rules. The rules will require good farming practice, so that farmers manage their land both to avoid water pollution and to benefit their business.
