A number of local organisations welcome volunteers who like to get dirty in and around the Island’s Rivers.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust have land on the Eastern Yar around Alverstone.
Wight Nature Fund welcome volunteers on the Western Yar at Mill Copse.
RSPB have an extensive reserve on the Eastern Yar at Brading Marshes.
National Trust have land at Newtown, and on the Eastern Yar near St Helens.
Gift To Nature / Natural Enterprise deliver occasional projects on the Island’s Rivers that require volunteers.
IW Green Gym have a weekly programme of conservation activities – some of which are alongside the Island’s rivers
